About me

About me

My qualifications

My qualifications

Born and raised in southeast London, I lived briefly in Malvern before I moved Up North in 2007 and never looked back.

Following my undergraduate degree I worked as a support worker and then in the SEND department of a school where I discovered my love and aptitude for working with young people with neurodivergence. I then spent four years working in child psychosocial research, where I gained skills in cognitive and neurodiversity assessment and report writing. Wanting to be able to help families beyond the point of assessment, I began my journey to becoming a Clinical Psychologist in 2015.

In my free time, I enjoy being in nature, reading books and going to the cinema and gigs. I am a collector of tattoos, a lover of dogs, and am incapable of meeting an animal, plant or object without giving it a whimsical name.

My experience

Currently, alongside my private practice, I run an NHS service for children with chronic health conditions including diabetes, Tourette's, epilepsy, cystic fibrosis and severe allergies.

Prior to this, I have experience working in core CAMHS, adolescent inpatient and early years CAMHS. I have also worked in criminal justice, supporting the embedding of mental health nurses into custody suites, and training policing staff in mental health and communication.

During my time working in research at The University of Manchester, I worked on a number of projects including exploring the cognitive and social outcomes of children who are adopted or who have genetic disorders, the use of family therapy for adolescents who self-harm, and parent-infant interaction and its impact on future neurodivergence. During this time I also co-authored a number of published academic articles and presented at conferences.

My approach

My qualifications

My experience

My clinic is based in a quiet area of Warrington, UK. I aim to offer a relaxed, informal environment where people feel accepted, understood, and empowered to make changes.  I know how hard it can be to engage with therapy, so I have a patient and flexible approach to sessions. I adapt my style to meet the needs of each person, and take in to account any neurodivergence or sensory needs during a session. I encourage non-problem talk, humour, and the celebrating of successes. This approach means I have an excellent success rate of even the most reluctant young people opting to return for sessions.

When working with couples I offer a flexible space to explore the past, present and future. I support couples (particularly where neurodiversity is present) to improve their self-awareness, understanding of each other, communication, ability to repair ruptures and find joy and connection in their relationship.
